Diploma Certificate Templates for Word Format
Diploma certificates are certificates, that are issued to the diploma holders after the completion of their diplomas. These are released by the institution or the organization, which is offering that particular diploma. The diploma certificate is a verification that the diploma holder was enrolled in the programmed and has successfully completed the diploma.
Diplomas are short courses of study, that can either be academic or vocational. A diploma is a short path to enter the job market as compared to the time it would take to complete a full degree. The vocational diplomas train you for a certain type of job or help you in attaining the skills for a job. Hence, a completed diploma, and its certificate, can add to the credentials of the individual, provided the diploma fulfills the requirements of the job and the employer.
Institutions, usually, keep a template for the diploma certificates and edit it as per the diploma title, individual details, and other information. These templates can be self-designed or a ready-made template can be taken and edited as per the requirements. The option is chosen based on the saved time and cost as well as the uniqueness of the certificate so that it can be linked to the issuing institution.
The information included on a diploma certificate varies from one diploma to the other as well as from one institution to the other. However, generally, the following details are included on a diploma certificate:
- Date of issuance.
- Serial number of the certificate.
- The statement of ‘Certificate of completion’.
- Title of the diploma.
- Name, gender, roll number, registration number and other relevant details of the diploma recipient.
- Parent’s or guardian’s name.
- Duration of the diploma.
- Grades, percentages, marks, etc., if applicable.
- Details of the issuing institution, including name, logo, etc.
- Name, details and signature of the authoritative person/s.
- Stamp of the institution.
As a diploma certificate is a verified document and certifies an individual’s completion of a certain diploma, the individual can keep it in his record, mention it on his resume, and use it to claim those specific skills or knowledge, which he has gained through completing that diploma.
However, there are some concerns related to attaining a diploma or a diploma certificate as opposed to a complete degree or a certification, some of which are:
- Diploma certificates would suffice only if they fulfill the job requirements. For instance, some employers demand complete certification instead of a diploma.
- As diplomas are of short duration, they would not give the equivalent skills and knowledge, that is gained through a degree.
- Usually, the chances of career progression and advancement are limited for the diploma holders than certified employees.
Nevertheless, there are many skills, for which diplomas are included among the essentials for a job. In addition, there are many types of jobs, especially skill-based ones, that believe in vocational training instead of academic certification, and hence, for those, diploma certificates would be enough.
